How To Quickly Move People Through Your Magic Slot Machine™ and Create NEW Customers

Question from an AMF Subscriber:
“What’s the fastest way to attract prospects and move them from tire kickers to distributors or customers?”

I’m glad someone asked this question, because I realize that we live in an “instant gratification” world and some of you may start “missing the forest for the trees” as you start building their “pipeline”.

The short answer is that since we are trying to build a business of relationships (a people business), that really can’t be rushed beyond the need of the prospect on your list.

Note that the question above came from a network marketer, but this lesson applies to ALL industries, including real-estate, insurance, sales, law, medical, martial arts, etc.

When you look at what most people do in these industries, you start to realize that they try to operate a lot like speed-dating — serially working through leads and moving from one prospect to the other without bothering to try to retain or build a relationship. And much like speed dating, you may have to run through ALOT of people to find your new customer, client or distributor (date).

The Value of Duplication

Now this might produce some results if you are a skilled sales person, but this is NOT at all duplicatable and will eventually lead to your burn-out.

One of the reasons why I love network marketing and direct sales so much is because it’s inherently intended to be a business based on leverage by building an organization. But you’ll never be able to grow a large organization if you can’t duplicate your efforts.

Salesmanship is NOT duplicatable. But just about everyone has the ability to make new friends — especially if your marketing is responsible for the introductions.

If you are smart, you should figure out if there is a way for you to duplicate your business through others to create leverage, regardless of the industry. I know real-estate has made strides in implementing level based commission structures to encourage “win-win” collaboration among agents.

The Leverage is in the List

And the current project Raymond and I have going with Hwa Rang Do® is to duplicate the West Coast Hwa Rang Do® Headquarter’s marketing methods across the globe to bring more visibility and brand Hwa Rang Do® as the PREMIER martial art in the world. Period. But we are doing it one prospect at a time, using the internet and various forms of leverage.

The first form of leverage you should start working on are relationships — meaning start building your list.

The Attraction Marketing Formula™ is designed to show you exactly how to create an automated system which will eventually build you a list of hundreds, thousands or even millions of subscribers for you to stay in constant communication with and give them as much time as they need to get to know you.

  • Will some people want your services immediately? Absolutely. Especially if they have a bad back and are looking for a chiropractor. ;)
  • Will some people stick around and methodically scrutinize your knowledge, background and integrity? Yes. Gotta love the analytical types.

  • Will some people join you or become a customer after a few days? Sure. They just need enough information to make a decision. They decide when that is.

  • Will some people remain on your list, but never take action. YES! I love not having to deal with tire-kickers.

  • Will some people unsubscriber? You bet! Good riddance.

Their actions will depend very much on many variables, which is why you want to have a list and a means to communicate with that list often so you have an opportunity to have all the prospect’s requirements and variables satisfied.

For example, if you are working on building your list and adding value to that prospect, pretty soon you will hit the 1,000 subscriber mark. Now imagine if your conversion rate from prospect to customer was 1%.

If you were serially working through leads (like most people), going through 980 people to find 10 customers… that would be a nightmare. Sure that might be enough to run a profitable business, but it will destroy your life. It would also mean you need to work on your sales skills.

But if you were converting 1% of the 1,000 subscribers per month and constantly replenishing the list with new prospects, 10 customers per month on a virtually automatic basis is a dream come true. Your main role would be to answer the phone and be a friendly voice to the person that calls.

However, this may take some time initially since everyone starts their list at ZERO and a 1% conversion of ZERO is ZERO.

Case Study: Traditional Martial Art, Strict and Tough Master, Complex Techniques and One Hell of a Work-Out!

A great real-life example of this was the work Raymond and I started working on for Master Lee at the beginning of this year. We launched the Hwa Rang Do® Bootcamp newsletter back in February and waited…. and waited…. and waited….

We were getting lots subscribers via traffic from Google AdWords, YouTube and word-of-mouth referrals but no one was walking through the door. I believe in the 1st couple of months one guy called and expressed interest in trying a class.

Raymond and I were starting to get discouraged, but Master Lee having been in business for a while knew something was brewing under the surface.

This past month, the West Coast Hwa Rang Do® Headquarters had ‘buddy-week’ — a special week where the school opens to the public for friends, family and strangers to come try a class. An announcement was sent out to the subscriber list and the students were encouraged to invite people, using the bootcamp newsletters and online videos to help describe this rich and complex art.

Over the course of 3 days, 37 new people walked through dojang doors and took a beginner’s class led by Chief Master Taejoon Lee. The dojang was tearing at the seems with huge beginner’s classes. At least 8 of those people became students, with more planning on signing up in the near future. (They go back in the pipeline to continue the relationship if they don’t sign-up.)

What happened that week, which didn’t happen back in February?

Our marketing had hit critical mass. There were finally enough people on the list, and students were excited about showcasing the FREE online instructional content and videos to their friends, which made this ‘buddy week’ the most successful in the 13 years Master Lee has owned his business.

Also, I just noticed recently that one of the 27 Hwa Rang Do® videos we had put up on YouTube just went over the 40,000 views mark. That’s 40,000 more people who now know about Hwa Rang Do®, whom didn’t know about it prior to February from just one FREE online video posting.

Our videos are being circulated all over the web and the viral spread has begun. Let them come to us. That’s what Attraction Marketing is all about.

We had proven that the list building techniques we had learned in network marketing could be applied anywhere! Even with a virtually unknown traditional martial art with a 1,800 year history.

Ok, you guys must not read English too well (and this is coming from a native Spanish speaker), but I asked for a Traffic Tactic of choice in NL#5 and you guys respond with things like:

  • How do I build X business using this?
  • When is your course going to be made available again?
  • How do I rank high on Google for [keyterm]? (close, but no cigar!)

Although these are great questions, they were completely unrelated to what I was asking of you. And really, it wasn’t that hard. Maybe I should have labeled the options a) through g).

Well fortunately for you, Raymond and I sat down with Master Lee last night for some Sushi and drinks to talk “business”. We touched on a subject, which got Master Lee to raise his eyebrow in his trademark style.

Specifically, how we can leverage existing websites and tools out there to rank high for certain keyterms.

What is All Martial Arts.com?

I mentioned to Master Lee that his father, Supreme Grandmaster Joo Bang Lee owns a website called AllMartialArts.com, which is a generic site on martial arts which is over 10 years old. I mean this thing is not pretty in the slightest bit and probably hasn’t been updated in that period of time as well.

It’s purely HTML and text with no pictures. (Flash NOT good for SEO.)

I noticed that when I typed in things like “Japanese Martial Arts” or “Korean Martial Arts”, it ranks #4 right behind Wiki-pedia’s listing!

This is very impressive!

What this means is that Google views Grandmaster’s site as a VERY HIGH authority site on the topic of martial arts.

In fact, I browsed around the website and there isn’t a single individual page on that site, which doesn’t have a Google Page Rank of 5. Usually a website will have a Page Rank of 3 or 4 for ONLY their homepage if they are lucky!

And that’s after they’ve done some search engine optimization and bought some links from other sites.

What does this mean you ask?

It means AllMartialArts.com is one of the top dog websites on Martial Arts in the world, according to Google!

So needless to say we had lots of ideas as to how to leverage the traffic already being generated by AllMartialArts.com.

But this does very little to get you excited I imagine…

Well, in this case you are probably right. But read between the lines, here.

What I’m talking about is leveraging other websites, which Google already likes. And it doesn’t even need to be one you own!

Websites to Leverage To Get FREE Traffic

Recently, social networking sites have been huge and growing at exponential rates. You have MySpace.com, YouTube.com, Metacafe.com, among others.

There are also a ton of Article Directories like GoArticles, EzineArticles.com & USFreeAds.com.

By putting up your content on any one of these websites, you are leveraging their authority with Google to get your content ranked high on the search engines for carefully chosen keywords.

What you basically need to do is:

Video Sites - produce a video related to your niche, which is ‘How-To’ or instructional in nature, give it a title which encompasses your niche and wait for Google to index it. If the term is not too overly competitive, it will start ranking on Google for terms, which you put in your title or description of the video.

Here’s a recently uploaded video for our Hwa Rang Do Marketing. It’s headline reads “Martial Arts Seminar - Minneapolis, MN, 2003 - Hwa Rang Do®“. The keyphrase being “Martial Arts Seminar“:

By optimizing for certain keywords or phrases, you boost your rankings on Google™ and YouTube™ itself for those keyterms. So run over to YouTube.com and create a FREE account and start publishing your videos.

You should also publish on MetaCafe.com.

Article Directories - simply write an article and optimize the content around a keyword phrase related to your niche, and Google will eventually find it and rank it for your keyword phrase. Google loves articles and it loves article directories.

And whether you use video or articles, place a link to your website in the description of the video or signature of your article and ‘VIOLA’…

Free traffic to you website for life! People will stumble upon your article, like what they read and click on your link to learn more.

Do this enough times and you can just imagine where this can take you.

I think I gave away enough secrets, already. My partner is going to kill me!

How It Works

Google Results

Google™ Adwords is a Pay-per-Click (PPC) service. If you’ve ever done a search on Google™, you will have noticed a few “sponsored links” ads on the right side of the page. This is where you would place your ad.

You’ll be bidding on keyterms you select and your ad will show up when someone searches the keyterms you choose.

For example, if you are interested in bidding on “martial arts schools in los angeles“. Then anytime someone searches that term on Google™, your ad will appear on the right side under “sponsored links”.

You don’t pay for your ad appearing. You only pay when someone ‘clicks’ on your ad and is redirected to your website. This cost-per-click (CPC) may range anywhere between $0.01 per click and $2.00 per click, depending on your market and the competition in the market.

Reading Minds

Back in the 2nd Day of your Attraction Marketing Bootcamp, I spoke about having Google™ tell you what your potential customers are thinking. Well, this is what I meant.

I can’t think of a better way to know what someone is thinking than to know what they are searching for on Google™. Based on the terms they are searching for, you’ll know whether they are just searching for information or are ready to buy something.

Understanding the psychology of these keyterms is key to getting the most out of your Google™ Ads.

For example, a search for “martial arts schools in los angeles” demonstrates an interest in finding a school in that area. Which means they are ready to register with a school and begin training.

The term “martial arts events” is more representative of someone looking to be entertained, therefore if you’re on a limited marketing budget, you probably wouldn’t bid on this keyword since conversions to students from this traffic would be lower, than for “martial arts schools in los angeles“.
